To encourage a relaxed and friendly atmosphere members, guests and visitors should maintain smart casual dress in the clubhouse and around the club. ‘Smart casual’ can mean different things to different people but must be clean and appropriate.
It is not easy to cover every item of clothing, but we ask members and guests to be considerate. For the avoidance of doubt blue denim, jogging bottoms, collarless shirts, T-shirts and football shirts are not considered to be smart casual.
Jackets are not required in the dining room unless specifically requested.
Smart trainer style shoes (not gym shoes) and moulded sole golf shoes are allowed but they must be clean. Soft-spiked and spiked golf shoes are not permitted in the clubhouse*. Gentlemen may wear loafers or boat shoes without socks but sandals and flipflops are not considered smart casual.
Hats, caps and waterproofs should be removed when entering the clubhouse and we request shoes are changed in the clubhouse and not in the car park.
Appropriate leeway on the dress code will be given for children.
On the course
Conventional golf attire and shoes must be worn on the golf course.
For gentlemen, shirts must have sleeves, a collar and should remain tucked in. For ladies, shirts may be turtleneck or collared and should remain tucked in unless are designed not to be.
Jeans, combat or jogging-style trousers and crop tops are not permitted.
Shorts must be tailored and may be worn with knee length, short white or white trainer socks.
Trainers, other than golf style shoes, are not permitted and caps are to be worn only with the peak at the front.
Mobile Phone
These now form part of everyday Club life. They should be put on silent mode and their use for calls restricted to the car park or for emergencies.
We would ask members and their guests to respect and self-police this code so as not to put the team or other members in an awkward position.
* Clean, soft-spiked golf shoes may be worn to and from the bar when sitting on the terrace.
